Finally...

Use common sense. Some dealer advertising tries to tie itself to seemingly legitimate institutions within the community. For example, why would a credit union challenge a dealer to sell 500 cars? It's a gimmick, and I wouldn't trust any credit union or bank that steers you to ANY particular dealer. They wouldn't do it if there wasn't money in it for them, and the more people you have to subsidize during your car buying experience just means the price goes up, not down.
